About 4:56 a.m., firefighters responded to the skiing and snowboarding park to fight a fire in a maintenance building at 99 Powder Hill Road, according to a statement from Chief Peter Tyc of the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company.
The fire, which was burning in the ceiling of the building, was quickly extinguished by crews from the Middlefield company, the Durham Volunteer Fire Company, the Westfield Fire Company, the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company, the Westfield Fire Company, the South Fire District and the Middletown and Meriden Fire Departments.
No injuries were reported, Tyc said.
The fire did not extend beyond the maintenance building and the park would be open for normal business on Sunday, officials said.
The Middlefield Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the fire.
