This project, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, intends to develop rural-relevant quality measures to be used in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) community. THE Goal of the F.A.I.R. Measurement Project is not only intended to improve quality of care in Florida’s rural areas but also to develop national measures that can be implemented in other areas.

NEMSQA is providing measure development consultant services for the F.A.I.R. project and facilitating an initial comment period. An additional comment period will be facilitated in 2022, after measures undergo controlled testing.

Quality measure development provides the foundation for EMS agencies to measure and improve patient care outcomes. NEMSQA quality measures have enabled the EMS community to collect, analyze, and benchmark data using validated, standardized and continuously reviewed measure sets.

More information on the NEMSQA Measure Development Process can be found here. The deadline to submit comments is Aug. 1, 2021.
