Woman Killed in TN Mobile Home Explosion, Fire

Rural Metro Fire-Knox County crews were dispatched to the mobile home in the 5500 block of Fort Sumter Road at around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a report from WATE, a woman has died after an explosion and fire erupted in her mobile home early Wednesday morning in North Knox County, Tennessee.

Rural Metro Fire-Knox County crews were dispatched to the mobile home in the 5500 block of Fort Sumter Road at around 3 a.m. to a reported structure fire with an explosion.

Rural Metro Public Information Officer Jeff Bagwell said that, on arrival, fire crews found a well-involved single-wide trailer showing fire with one fatality. Crews extinguished the fire without affecting any nearby structures.

The Knox County Fire Investigation Unit is now investigating.

Fort Sumter Road will remain closed for an unspecified amount of time to process the scene.
